This week, our look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Flatbush, Dyker Heights, Gowanus and Brooklyn Heights. How did they fare?

First up is a third-floor unit in a six-story Flatbush building. The apartment includes multiple exposures, a generous number of closets and a spacious layout. This one-bedroom unit still has its original layout with a walk-in closet at the entry and all rooms entered via a large foyer with a built-in niche and arched openings. There are wood floors in every room but the bathroom, and white walls and trim throughout. The track lighting in the living room may not be to everyone’s taste but there are two windows and room for dining. Building amenities include a live-in super, laundry room, package room, gym and additional play area. Maintenance for this unit is $715 a month. A former Co-op of the Day, it sold in July for $545,000, which was $20,000 above the asking price.

Next, in Dyker Heights is a semi-detached 1920s brick house that has a shared driveway leading to a garage. It has a somewhat open plan on the first floor, incorporating the original sunroom into the living room with a dining room beyond and a renovated, windowed kitchen at the rear. That kitchen has lots of white cabinets along with quartz counters and a breakfast bar. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a full bath. Another full bath is found in the basement along with a laundry room and rec room. A former Open House Pick, it sold in July for $1.05 million, which was $75,000 above the asking price.

Moving onto Gowanus, we find an Italianate brick home that was renovated and decorated by the designer couple of Merrill Lyons of Lyons Design Studio and Charles Brill of Rich Brilliant Willing lighting. The streamlined two-family was a House of the Day in 2019, but since then there haven’t been any significant alterations. The owner’s duplex still has a unified aesthetic of white walls, gray painted trim and pale flooring. Some remaining marble mantels give a nod to the original design origins of the house. Minty green cabinets and brass fixtures and hardware enliven the kitchen while the rest of the finishes are kept light, including the gray hexagonal tile floor. The garden-level one-bedroom rental also got some new staging but still has its white and black kitchen, oak flooring and in-unit laundry. A former House of the Day, it sold in August for $3 million, which was $95,000 below the asking price in April, when we last wrote about it.

With a complete interior renovation by architects Baxt Ingui, this last one, a Brooklyn Heights brownstone, offers up a bit of contrast on the interior, from a high-ceilinged Italianate detail-filled parlor to a wood-clad rustic retreat on the top floor. The 25-foot-wide townhouse dates to the late 1850s, according to the LPC Landmarks Map. The legal two-family has a garden unit, or guest suite if used as a single-family, and four floors of living space above. That includes a parlor level with wide planked floorboards, marble mantels, ceiling medallions and plasterwork in the double parlors. The kitchen is in an extension at the rear of the floor and has a wall of glass and a skylight illuminating the wood cabinets and marble countertops. The floor above has been turned into an almost full-floor bedroom suite with a sitting room, en-suite bath, walk-in closet and access to a terrace. A family room has been crafted out of the space in the attic, with exposed brick, a wood-clad ceiling and a wood burning fireplace. For the wine connoisseur, the cellar includes bottle storage set into the stone and brick walls. According to the listing, the climate-controlled room has space for about 1,500 bottles. This former House of the Day did not sell and is currently off the market.
