Coming out of the long holiday weekend, we’re back to take a look at four of our featured listings from six months ago. This week, we’re focused on homes in Kensington, Marine Park, Crown Heights and Park Slope. How did they fare?

Starting us off this week, on the first floor of a prewar walk-up building in Kensington, this renovated apartment has some modern touches along with plentiful closets and two bedrooms. The unit has a generous layout that includes a foyer large enough for dining and two almost equally sized bedrooms, both with multiple closets. The dining area doesn’t have a window but every other room does; the unit has three exposures. There are wood floors throughout, and a renovation before it last sold in 2017 included recessed lighting, built-ins in the living room, and updates to the kitchen and bath. While the building itself faces busy Ocean Parkway, the views in the listing seem to indicate that this unit — particularly the bedrooms — does not face the parkway. Maintenance for the apartment is low at $700 a month, and it comes with a free storage cage in the building’s basement. This former Co-op of the Day sold in August for $710,000, which was $11,000 above the asking price.

Next up, this early 20th century detached home in Marine Park offers some period details and comes with the bonus of a two-car garage. It has a tidy interior with arched openings, stained glass and wood floors. The kitchen at the rear of the first floor has vintage slab-front cabinets and light coming in from glass doors that lead out to the rear deck. Laundry is in the finished basement, and an unfinished attic offers more opportunity for storage. A former Open House Pick, the house sold in July for $999,999, which was $999 above the asking price.

Despite possibly needing a polish, this next one, a row house in the Crown Heights Historic District, offers up some eye-catching period details like fretwork, wainscoting, built-ins and mantels. The legal single-family is set up as a two-family, with an owner’s duplex above a garden rental. The parlor level boasts plenty of unpainted woodwork and details that start right at the entry, such as a pier mirror, built-in bench, and an Ionic-columned and arched fretwork screen that leads to the staircase. Upstairs are four bedrooms and two full baths. One of those is located in what would have been the original passthrough that would have connected the largest front and rear bedrooms. There’s a large rear yard that has potential for someone with a green thumb. A former House of the Day, it entered contract in May.

Last up, we have a two-family Romanesque Revival brick and brownstone row house in Park Slope that still has its distinctive details on the exterior as well as a wealth of unpainted woodwork, including mantels and fretwork, on the interior. It offers an abundance of living space with a garden level apartment and an owner’s unit with four floors above. The triple parlors include the expected high ceilings, pocket doors and wood moldings. The front parlor has an Ionic-columned mantel with wood-burning fireplace, and the middle parlor has built-ins on either side of its mantel. It also has a fretwork screen and built-in bench. The house has plenty of bedroom space, and the current owners have set up the floor above the parlor as a library and office with wood-burning fireplace and built-ins. Outdoor spaces include a deck off the parlor level and a garden with a paved patio and curved brick walls enclosing raised planting beds around the perimeter. This former House of the Day sold in July for $5.1 million, which was $400,000 above the asking price.
