Brooklyn Real Estate Six Months Later: One Sold, Two in Contract
A look back at our featured listings from six months ago to see how homes in Windsor Terrace, Bed Stuy and Crown Heights fared on the market.

This week, as the year comes to an end, we’re going back to the end of June to see how four of our featured listings fared.
First, a Bed Stuy brownstone that’s loaded with period detail — most notably mantels. At 629 Putnam Avenue in Stuy Heights, the house has got seven of them, including some pretty ornate Queen Anne-type numbers with mirrors, carved wood and Minton-style tiles. This former House of the Day sold in December for $1.685 million, which was $5,000 less than the asking price.
After that, a grand Renaissance Revival limestone on the former Millionaire’s Row, at 901 St. Marks Avenue in Crown Heights. One of a row of six limestones built circa 1910 by prolific architect Axel S. Hedman, it’s in the Crown Heights North Historic District. This former House of the Day is still on the market for $2.1 million, which is $295,000 less than the initial asking price.
Next up, a two-bedroom co-op that doesn’t dazzle with its details or its design, but offers two bedrooms, a fair amount of space and a practical layout, a couple blocks from Prospect Park. It’s in Windsor Terrace, on the fourth floor of a 70-unit building at 30 Ocean Parkway, built in 1936. This former Co-op of the Day went into contract in September.
And that last one’s on 8th Avenue in the South Slope, between Prospect Avenue and 17th Street. It’s got two bedrooms on the upper floor, with an office space tucked behind the sole bathroom; downstairs is a living room and a rear kitchen with french doors leading to the backyard, which is dominated by a wooden deck. This former Open House Pick went into contract in November.
