This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, West Midwood, Prospect Heights, and Park Slope. How did they fare?
Large for a one-bedroom, this 1920s apartment has some sweet period details as well as thoughtful updates. It’s on the fourth floor of 80 Winthrop Street in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. The unit opens to a foyer with closet and room for a bench and table. There are high ceilings, parquet, and original doors and molding. This former Co-op of the Day entered contract in October.
In the Flatbush micro-nabe of West Midwood, a fully detached early 20th century wood frame house has gables, bay windows, a porch, and driveway. Likely renovated not long after it was built, the house has an original stair, stained glass windows and inlaid wood floors, along with a later brick fireplace, woodwork, and wide arched doorways. This former Open House Pick entered contract in October.
This 1890s brownstone offers an abundance of space, period details in fine condition, and modern amenities like central air and updated wet rooms. In the Prospect Heights Historic District and just a short walk from Grand Army Plaza, 294 Park Place is unusually well preserved and recently renovated. Many of the intact details can be found on the parlor level, configured with a 31-foot-long front parlor, rear parlor, and dining extension. This former House of the Day sold in November for $5.26 million, which was $410,000 over the asking price.
In the Park Slope Historic District, this two-family brownstone has an impressive amount of period detail on display along with upgrades like central air and a restored facade. Dating to circa 1889, the 21-foot-wide row house at 788 Carroll Street also offers a fair amount of space and is configured as an owner’s triplex above a garden rental. As expected, the most impressive details are found on the parlor floor which, along with the two floors of bedroom space above, make up the triplex. This former House of the Day sold in December for $5.925 million, which was $70,000 under the asking price.
