This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Bay Ridge, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, and Brooklyn Heights. How did they fare?
In Bay Ridge, this early 20th century semi-detached house has an above-ground pool and parking. The four-bedroom house has a wood burning fireplace in the living room. This former Open House Pick sold in June for $1.75 million, which was $125,000 under the asking price.
A sprawling apartment in Turner Towers, perhaps Brooklyn’s grandest co-op, has a nicely updated kitchen and loft-like main living space. It’s on the 10th floor of the building, located at Prospect Heights’ 135 Eastern Parkway, which was designed by Sugarman & Berger and opened in 1927. This former Co-op of the Day was taken off the market in June.
Despite being split up into a four-family dwelling, this 1870s Park Slope brownstone retains a surfeit of detail and units that are smartly laid out to maximize space and retain some period charm. The interior of the house, located at 34 7th Avenue, includes mantels, moldings, ceiling medallions, tin ceilings, and even two bathrooms with late Victorian tile. This former House of the Day sold in April for $3.91 million, which was $440,000 above the asking price.
Coming onto the market for the first time in decades with an impressive asking price, this Brooklyn Heights brownstone has period details like marble mantels and plasterwork along with waterfront views and central air. Within the Brooklyn Heights Historic District, the circa 1860s to 1870s Italianate brownstone at 75 Columbia Heights is a legal two-family with a garden rental and an owner’s triplex above. This former House of the Day is still available.
