Our picks for open houses to check out this weekend are found in Clinton Hill, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Bay Ridge and Midwood. They range in price from $1.1 million to $1.885 million.

In Clinton Hill, a pre-Civil War Greek Revival-Italianate-Gothic hybrid has seen hard use but may hide some salvageable surprises such as plaster ornament and wide-plank floor boards under drywall and plastic flooring. Visible features worth saving include at least four mantels and a curving staircase. Currently set up as a double duplex, the four-story two-family house could work best as a spacious single-family. Located outside the historic district in a row that had dormer windows and porches, it has the distinction of being one of the more affordable townhouses in the neighborhood, but needs extensive work, and is being marketed as a development site.

In the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Historic District, this circa 1900 barrel-front row house has plenty of original details, including carved wood mantels with original tile, a pier mirror, window seats, and dining room with wainscoting and coffered ceiling. While it appears to be in good condition, the four-bedroom, one-bathroom single-family house has been in the same family for decades and could perhaps benefit from floor refinishing, updates to the wet rooms, and a second bathroom.

Likely dating from the 1920s, this bungalow row house with front porch and detached garage in Bay Ridge has plenty of original details and appears to be in good condition. Features include a mudroom, closet near the entrance, tin ceilings, parquet floors with inlaid borders, original stair, and built-in cupboard in the dining room. The kitchen and second-floor bathroom — one of two in the three-bedroom single-family house — might benefit from cosmetic updates. A breakfast nook off the kitchen, now in use as a pantry, could be returned to its original use with built-in seating.

Original details abound, including doors, staircase, parquet with inlaid borders and built-ins. With three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a finished basement, it appears in move-in condition.
