Open for a close look this warm fall weekend are four houses all asking less than $2 million. Found in Gowanus, Park Slope and Bay Ridge, their condition ranges from estate to recently renovated. Three date from the early 20th century, and a fourth was likely constructed circa 1870s.

Built of pale yellow brick, this early 20th century two-family row house in Park Slope has a bay window and metal cornice with swag embellishments. In the same family for decades, it’s set up as two floor-through apartments, the top one with six rooms and the ground floor one with five rooms. Photos show some original moldings and casings, a neo-Classical wood mantel with columns, more recent flooring and a late 20th century kitchen. The windowed English basement contains a powder room and laundry. Located close to the border of Windsor Terrace, it’s less than two blocks from Prospect Park. It’s asking $1.995 million.

This petite single-family on 2nd Street in Gowanus has a charming red brick exterior with simple lintels and bracketed cornice with hints of Italianate and Neo-Grec style. Also in the same family for decades, it’s in estate condition, but has a practical layout and some attractive original features that could shine in spruced-up surroundings. Historic details include an arched marble mantel with working fireplace, the original staircase and, in an upstairs bedroom, some original window casings and an original bracketed mantel shelf for a heating stove. The main floor has an open living-dining-kitchen area with hardwood floors and some exposed brick, an extension and a powder room. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a full bathroom, according to the listing. Going by the photos, it could potentially benefit from a new heating-cooling system, skim coating ceilings and a kitchen update. The 15-plus-foot-wide house is priced at $1.699 million.

An early 20th century house made of brick and stucco, this semi-detached Bay Ridge home on 70th Street appears to be in move-in condition and comes with a garage. It’s been extensively renovated but retains plenty of original details as well as a new kitchen and baths. The entry vestibule has a built-in window seat, black and gray diamond check floor, powder room and closet. The living room has diagonal flooring with inlaid borders, window seats and built-in storage, and two large windows. The dining room is similarly finished and features the home’s original staircase, with a stained glass window on the landing. The recently renovated kitchen has a built-in banquette, black and white diamond patterned floor and tin ceiling, and there is a finished basement with laundry. The mechanicals and roof are all new, according to the listing, and there is central air. Outdoor spaces include a deck, the backyard and a terraced front garden with sprinklers. It’s listed for $1.249 million.

Also in Bay Ridge and not far away on 68th Street is another early 20th century house that appears well preserved and in move-in condition, although some updates may be desirable. The fully attached row house is made of yellow brick and has a wood-frame sunroom. Inside is a gracious living space on the main floor, with an Arts and Crafts style staircase and woodwork, parquet floors with inlaid borders, and a coffered ceiling in the dining room. The circa 1960s kitchen looks to be in good condition. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a full bath. The latter has blue tile and appears to date from the same era as the kitchen. The basement has another full bathroom, laundry and a cedar closet. It’s on the market for $949,000.
