Our picks for open houses to check out this weekend are found in Carroll Gardens, Clinton Hill, Park Slope and Bay Ridge. They range in price from $1.295 million to $3.75 million.

In Carroll Gardens, a 19th century brownstone owned by a judge for much of the 20th century mixes original Italianate features such as a marble mantel and high ceilings with mid-20th century updates. Deco-style baths with peach and blue fixtures appear to be in good condition, as does the mid-20th century vintage cabinetry with scallops and big knobs in the triplex kitchen. The parlor level looks to have been remodeled in keeping with the houses of that era, adding a picture window and replacing the stair with a cast iron and wood model and bringing it into the parlor. The garden-level apartment has been clad in knotty pine and includes a bar.

In the Clinton Hill Historic District, a brownstone dating from the 1870s has a mix of original features and recent updates. The two-family is set up as an owner’s duplex over a garden apartment. The transitional Italianate has some Neo-Grec styling such as a triangular pediment over the front door, strap-like brackets with incised details on the corner and handsome carved marble mantels with angular designs. There are also high ceilings, arched doorways, parquet, and a circa-1900 wood mantel and pier mirror. Modern updates include a blue kitchen with stone counters, modern white bathrooms with subway tile and stone hex tile, white-painted brick, exposed beams and air conditioning.

In South Slope, the original wide plank wood floors are a standout feature of this mid-19th century wood frame house. The two-family is configured as a triplex over a garden apartment. A recent renovation gave it a bright, clean feel, with white walls, skylights and new white kitchen with subway tile and marble counters. It also has two wood-burning fireplaces, a landscaped rear yard and solar panels.

Also light and bright is this Bay Ridge house dating from the early 20th century. Part of a row built of stucco and brick, the house has most of its original features though not its red clay tile roof on brackets over the upper windows, visible in the historic tax photo of a nearby house. The inside appears to be immaculate, with original wood floors, plaster walls and a charming vintage bathroom with pink and gray tile. Features include a mudroom, recently renovated kitchen, four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, sunroom and mini-split air conditioning. There is also a finished basement, deck and backyard with pond.
