In the Crown Heights North II Historic District, this 1890s Colonial Revival standalone townhouse has the evidence of some of its historic bona fides on a plaque on the front facade. In the 1950s, the brick and limestone dwelling was home to singer and Academy Award and Emmy-nominated actress Ethel Waters. The two-family is set up as a duplex with a top floor rental; there are just a handful of listing photos, but they show moldings, an original stair and multiple mantels. There are seven mantels total with one wood burning fireplace. The duplex has four bedrooms and two full baths, which have a mix of Deco and early 20th century details.

In Bay Ridge, an early 20th century brick bow front row house has some period details on view, including pocket doors, wood floors, a pier mirror and built-ins. A two-family that has been in the same family for decades, it is configured with a top floor rental over a duplex with two full baths and a petite garden-level kitchen. The kitchens and baths appear in good condition, with a mix of elements from a variety of decades in the 20th century along with more recent updates.

This semi-detached Dutch Colonial Revival single-family in Marine Park is narrow at 14 feet wide, but offers some vintage details, a private driveway and a detached garage. A sun room, living room, dining room, den and kitchen are on the first floor with period parquet floors and arched openings. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a full bath. Another full bath is in the basement along with laundry. The house hasn’t changed hands in decades, but the listing notes there is a new hot water heater and boiler.
