Our picks for open houses to check out this weekend are found in Prospect Park South, Bushwick, and Park Slope. They range in price from $1,799,999 to $3.195 million.

In Prospect Park South, a 1902 shingled standalone on a corner lot has room to spare, original details, and a two-car garage. Owned by the publisher of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle in the house’s early years, it’s big enough to contain two very large apartments, and was divided into a two-family in 1942. The interior images are all virtually staged, but if they are accurate, the house has stayed fairly intact and has serene rooms with stained glass windows, coffered ceilings, pocket doors, and wood floors. There is a breakfast room, basement bar, and a loggia-like room with stained glass on an upper floor that may have once connected to one of the house’s two staircases or been open to another floor. The house last sold in 1995 and appears in excellent condition going by the photos, although the listing is mum on mechanicals. The exterior was already altered with a 20th century brick addition to the front of the first story by the time of the historic district designation.

In Bushwick, a wood-frame house that suffered a fire in 2019 has a restored exterior and updated interior. Luckily, most of the 1890s exterior gingerbread trim was still in place along with the shingles, and the facade has been impressively restored to match the historic tax photo with new paint, windows and repair of the canopy. The interior is modern with open floor plans and simple white walls but with thoughtful touches such as two original stone mantels and good closet space. Set up as a three-bedroom, 2.5 bath duplex over a two-bedroom garden apartment, the house appears to have new mechanicals including mini-split cooling and heating, along with separate hot waters in each unit.

In South Slope not far from the highway, a brick row house with angled bay combines Neo-Grec and Italianate features. Perhaps dating from the 1880s, it has curving window toppers, a strappy cornice, and wood double entry doors. The three-family is set up with three floor-through apartments, and they appear to be in decent rental condition, with some original woodwork, tin ceilings, and linoleum floor coverings. The roof dates from 2018, according to the listing.
