This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Park Slope, Bed Stuy, Prospect Heights and Cobble Hill. How did they fare?
Petite yet grand at the same time, this studio apartment on the garden floor of a brownstone offers a relatively low price tag close to amenities such as Prospect Park and Grand Army Plaza. At 19 7th Avenue, it’s one of eight units in an 1880s Neo-Grec townhouse in the Park Slope Historic District. This former Co-op of the Day sold in April for the asking price of $399,000.
In the Stuyvesant Heights Historic District, a circa 1900 townhouse dressed in pale stone has encaustic tile in the entry, fretwork, mantels, moldings, tin ceilings, bead board and original shutters. A three-family, the house is configured as a top-floor rental over an owner’s duplex. This former Open House Pick sold in May for $1.932 million, which was $337,000 over the asking price.
You have to look past some bright green paint, but the interior of this Prospect Heights brownstone is filled with original details, including mantels, a pier mirror and wainscoting. At 137 St. Marks Avenue, the house also has a corner location with a garage and a triple-height bay window to bring some light into the interior. This former House of the Day sold in June for $4.3 million, which was $1.2 million under the asking price.
In the Cobble Hill Historic District, this brownstone has some period details, like plasterwork and marble mantels, along with an updated kitchen. At 52 Tompkins Place, it has been in the same family hands since the 1960s and the two-family appears to have been immaculately kept. This former House of the Day was taken off the market in June.
