This week, we’re looking back to the middle of April and checking in on how four of our featured listings fared on the market.

First up, there is this Romanesque Revival brownstone at 453 MacDonough Street in eastern Bed Stuy. It might need some work, but the basics are there for this to be a tremendous home. The parlor and garden floors are chock full of woodwork, including elaborate fretwork in the entry and over one of the doors, wainscoting, a large built-in in the rear parlor and at least one original mantel. The original inlaid and parquet wood floors look like they have survived the years in very good shape. This House of the Day sold in July for $1.485 million, $14,000 under the asking price.

Next is this early 20th century frame house at 387 East 5th Street in Kensington that has some appealing features. It has stately painted columns framing the entrance to the open living and dining areas on the main floor. The inlaid wood floors on the main and second floors appear to be in pristine condition. And for its size — 2,130 square feet — it squeezes in an awful lot: five bedrooms and three full baths. This House of the Day is in contract.

Then, this two-bedroom condo in a recently converted circa-1900 Renaissance Revival building at 24 3rd Street in Carroll Gardens, which is long and narrow but includes some historic detail and modern touches. The eight-unit building was converted to condos in 2010, so the renovation is relatively new. This Condo of the Day sold in July for $875,000, $24,000 below asking price.

Wrapping it up, there is a Neo-Grec townhouse with a bay front in Clinton Hill, on Lafayette Avenue across from the Ryerson Towers. It’s a large one, 21 feet wide and four stories, which has been renovated, but retains original details including crown moldings, a tin ceiling and a tiered, mirrored mantel. As it stands, it’s split into double duplexes; the listing offers an alternate floor plan for a triplex over a garden rental, so a buyer could go that route. The mechanicals have been updated, and “the structure is super solid,” according to the listing. This Open House Pick is in contract.
