The top pick of the week was a 19th century Park Slope Romanesque Revival townhouse with a listing intriguingly short on details.
This week our most popular listings included homes with unusual interior features, ranging from virtual doormen to an elevator. One home even has a built-in home automation system you can control from an iPad. The top pick of the week was a 19th century Park Slope Romanesque Revival brick townhouse with a listing intriguingly short on details.
Almost all of the favorites were houses, with just one co-op and one condo in the mix. Prices ranged from $525,000 for a 20th century house in Brownsville to nearly $7 million for an Italianate in Boerum Hill.

8. Next stop is Brownsville, where we find a brick house on Willmohr Street near the East Flatbush border. This one’s an estate sale, and it needs some work. At 20 feet wide and three stories high, it might offer some space to play with. It’s got parquet floors, a front driveway and a paved backyard. Despite the presence of two kitchens, it is a legal one-family, according to the listing and the certificate of occupancy.

5. Here’s a gut renovated 1870s Bed Stuy brownstone that’s not a flip — or doesn’t appear to be at least. If it is, the house — at 231 MacDonough Street, in the Stuyvesant Heights Historic District — is a good bit more attractive and thoughtfully done than average.

Recently renovated by the long-time owner, going by public record, this one’s got some original detail on the parlor floor, including pocket doors, moldings, window casings and a mirrored mantel. 3. In Crown Heights on Bergen Street stands a four-story circa 1898 townhouse that’s newly renovated within; by a flipper, it appears. The Renaissance Revival house is within the Crown Heights North Historic District. There’s an upper triplex with four bedrooms, a kitchen with stone countertops and a center island, and a steel deck with stairs leading to a wood-fenced yard. There are high ceilings and a few details, including four mantels and tin ceilings. One would presume there’s a rental on the bottom floor, but there’s no floor plan and the listing makes no mention of one, so we couldn’t say for certain.

The brick and brownstone facade and exterior ironwork have been restored, as have the home’s interior historic details. These include floor-to-ceiling parlor windows, original Italianate marble mantels, and an arch and corbels with foliate plaster details on the parlor floor.

1. Here’s a Romanesque Revival brick townhouse on a 26-foot lot with a garage and a driveway — a common enough commodity in the borough’s outer reaches but a rare find in Park Slope a stone’s throw from Prospect Park. Located at 441 14th Street in the Park Slope Historic District, the house seems to need considerable work, though the listing is short on details.
