Top 10 Brooklyn Real Estate Listings: Montrose Morris and Circa-1900 Homes

This week our most popular listings were an eclectic mix of styles and locations. The listings hail from all over the borough, with nine different neighborhoods represented. Space seemed to be a priority with single-family and multi-family homes making up the bulk of the favorites.

Prices start at $625,000 for a brick home in Midwood and top out at $6,250,000 for an apartment building in Williamsburg designed by Brooklyn architect Montrose Morris.

It’s modern and tricked out with solar panels, a surround-sound system, a security system, and smartphone-controlled thermostat and lighting. It’s got a one-bedroom rental on the bottom floor and a three-bedroom quadruplex above, which includes a full-floor master suite and a sunroom with a pair of terraces on top.

The gas fireplace, staircase, kitchen and other details are completely contemporary; it’s located in a historic brick townhouse with four units that was converted in 2007.

8. On Wellington Court in West Midwood, we’ve got a freestanding house that’s been gut renovated; everything is new in here. Some bold design choices in this one; take the kitchen, with its adventurous tile scheme. It’s got five bedrooms, including a master with a massive walk-in closet, a front porch, a rear deck, a windowed basement with a cedar-paneled laundry room, a large yard and a driveway.

7. In Windsor Terrace on 16th Street, we’ve got a two-story single family that is “in need of a modern refurbishment,” according to the listing. The early 20th century brick house has an expansive living space on the first floor, with a center hall staircase and a pair of columns; upstairs are three bedrooms. Details include a moldings, parquet floors and a fireplace that doesn’t look to be original. The condition of the row house actually looks pretty good, but some may want to upgrade the kitchen, at least.

6. Next up, on East 19th Street in Ditmas Park, is a sprawling Colonial Revival with six bedrooms and a large wraparound porch. Inside is a lot of space and a good deal of original detail in fine shape, including parquet floors, a columned pier mirror, stained glass, pocket doors and several tiled fireplaces. The top floor’s got a vintage full bath with a claw foot tub and a pull-chain toilet; the other full bath is recently renovated. There’s a driveway and a two-car garage.
