Brooklyn Bridge Park $20.301 Million Penthouse Condo Sale Sets New Borough Record
The Brooklyn Heights apartment is actually two penthouses combined and has 1,179 square feet of outdoor space.
A penthouse condo on the waterfront hit a new Brooklyn sales record when it closed earlier this month.
The sale of the Quay Tower home set the new record to beat at $20.301 million. According to a press release, the unit is actually two penthouses combined to create a five-bedroom, 7,433-square-foot residence with an additional 1,179 square feet of outdoor space. Records show the sale for PH1A at 50 Bridge Park Drive closed on April 3.
The controversial 30-story tower, along with a neighboring mixed-income rental tower, is the last to be built in the park and prompted years of protest and litigation. It sits on Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park. It was designed by ODA New York with interiors by Marmol Radziner. Move-ins started earlier this year.
The previous Brooklyn record was $16,745,121, rumored to be paid by Matt Damon and wife Lucianna Barroso for a penthouse condo in The Standish, also in Brooklyn Heights at 171 Columbia Heights, in 2018. The prior record holder was 177 Pacific Street in Cobble Hill, a carriage house that sold for $15.5 million in 2015 to photographer Jay Maisel.
