A sprawling apartment in Turner Towers, perhaps Brooklyn’s grandest co-op, has a nicely updated kitchen and loft-like main living space. It’s on the 10th floor of the building, located at 135 Eastern Parkway, which was designed by Sugarman & Berger and opened in 1927.

The walls around the dining room have been opened up to make a bigger main space, which means the former living room can be used as a library or third bedroom if desired. As is typical for units in the building, there are herringbone floors, beamed ceilings, generous proportions, and prewar moldings.

The kitchen was redesigned by Henrybuilt with a calming mix of minimalist cabinetry in white and pale wood tones. The bedrooms have views of the Brooklyn Museum and trees.

One of the apartment’s 2.5 bathrooms, all updated, has modern floating fixtures atop classic tightly spaced subway wall tile, while another has an original Art Deco tub, modern console sink, and black and white vintage-style tile on the walls and floor.

There are also 10 closets, a pantry, and in-unit laundry. Other features include Runtal radiators, and lighting fixtures from David Weeks and Artemide, according to the listing, from Tracey McLean and Erin Penoyer of Corcoran.

The 15-story, 186-unit elevator building is known for its white-glove service and also has a shared garden and extra storage. Maintenance charges for this unit are $2,462 a month. It last sold in 2011 for $950,000, before the most recent renovation. The apartment is now asking $2.495 million. What do you think?
