Co-op of the Day: Affordable on Beverley Road
Five blocks to the North of Monday’s House of the Day, this attractive one-bedroom looks like a great first apartment to us. With an asking price of $185,000 and a monthly maintenance of $532, we guessing pre-tax monthly costs of about $1,600; after-tax probably closer to $1,200 or $1,300. Not bad for a real one…

Not bad for a real one bedroom with a separate dining area in a pre-war building. How close is the nearest subway?

How exactly does one go about figuring out the “after-tax” monthly costs on a co-op?
We currently pay $1900 a month for a 3BR in Prospect Heights. We finally have about $30,000 saved for our first apartment, and so I have been figuring that we can afford about $2,000 for the mortgage+maintenance.
But how should I be taking the “after-tax” monthly costs into account to determine how much co-op we can afford?
Thanks
This is in a bad area, maybe changing for the better, but would take a couple of more years.
Neither the post at 3:14PM nor at 5:07PM are mine. Another thread ruined by this creep.
Not again, with these idiots. Basta!
I may also have been confusing this area with PLG, where I used to live. That was an easy commute, though.
Dustball, that house is in Staten Island!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What’s that about?????????
We are talking about Victorian Flatbush, located in Brooklyn, NY.
Call a Staten Island Broker!!!
We sent this open house listing to Mary Kay Gallagher, but have not heard from her…..
