House of the Day: 321 Clinton Street
This has to be one of the most spectacular brownstones we have ever laid eyes on.
This has to be one of the most spectacular brownstones we have ever laid eyes on. Built around 1848, according to the listing, 321 Clinton Street has original ceiling murals, stained glass doors, white marble mantels and elaborate crown molding. The four-story building (plus full-height attic) is 22 feet wide and 50 feet deep plus has extensions and is on an extra-deep lot (112 feet long). Configured as an owner’s duplex with two apartments above, there is also a terrace and a deck. We presume the kitchens and baths need updating, since there are no photos of them; the listing doesn’t say the mechanicals are new, but it does say they have been well maintained. Does $4,000,000 strike you as a reasonable price?
