This bow-fronted red brick row house at 62 Stratford Road in Caton Park is less than a block from Prospect Park and has parking. There’s no floor plan in the listing, but we’re guessing the house was built as a two-family based on the interior photos and the setup of one apartment per floor. The listing says it was built in 1901, and it looks it.
The well preserved exterior has neo-Classical columns and inside are original details such as fretwork screens, parquet floors, and decorative moldings. The kitchens and baths are updated, and there is a semi-finished basement. It sits on a large lot, 27.5 by 140 feet, and there is a two-car garage in the rear.
The house last traded for $85,000 in 2009, a low price, but the same names reappear on records going back to 1999. Do you think it’s worth the $1,545,000 ask?

Acris reveals that the house has been in the same family since 1998 and that the parents sold it to the daughter for $85,000 5 years ago.
$85,000 five years ago? I quit this.
This has been on the market for a few months now (Corcoran before)
It is a great location and good for a car enthusiast. But the house needs a major update and for this location it is a bit steep in price on balance for the non car enthusiast or some other garage/concrete yard user..
Kitchen is awful but that close to the park and with parking, I’m guessing it will go close.
