All but one of our Open House Picks from six months ago took the market by storm, three of the homes selling for just under their ask in October and November.

All in move-in condition and notably spacious, the properties were spread through some of Brooklyn’s most prime neighborhoods. Notably, the home that didn’t sell was asking the highest price of the bunch — by a lot.

The four-bedroom Gowanus listing with a 50-foot yard sold for $70,000 under ask, slightly worse than the Bay Ridge home that asked the exact same price — $1,495,000 — and sold for $25,000 under ask. Then again, the Bay Ridge home is a two-family on a 148-foot-deep lot with a small pool.

In Carroll Gardens, a brownstone with an impressive 34-foot width, nearly double the average, divided into three units totaling 6,000 square feet asked an equally impressive price — $5,500,000 — and failed to sell. The property was taken off the market in December.

Lastly, the 21-foot-wide Fort Greene (Wallabout, really) number with a generous floor plan built in 1840, but located unfortunately close to the BQE sold for just $5,000 under its $1,600,000 ask.

  1. LOL @ the description from 70 adelphi

“This is truly a prime offering near BLDG 92, Brooklyn Grange, the world’s largest rooftop soil farm, the BQE, hip Myrtle Avenue and more”

soil farm? anyway, at least they were honest about it the location- it is pretty much underneath the BQE.
