The Griffin is one of Brooklyn’s more glamorous apartment buildings even though the units are small, and the Fort Greene location could not be more convenient (unless you’re trying to park).

This studio for rent on the 10th floor of 101 Lafayette Avenue exemplifies the allure with its high beamed ceilings, black steel-frame casement windows and pleasant views of treetops in Fort Greene Park. It also has a proper foyer and decent storage space, including a closet that could house a Murphy bed.

The eat-in part of the kitchen is pretty picturesque also, thanks to its backdrop of steel-frame windows overlooking the park’s refreshing greenery. The rest of the room is not shown, nor is the bathroom.

The 17-story, 204-unit co-op has a 24-hour doorman, elevator and shared laundry. Gas, heat and hot water are included in the rent, according to the listing.

Designed by architect Frederick H. Klie, the red brick Art Deco apartment building opened in 1932. It has an elegant arched entrance with geometric and Middle Eastern motifs rendered in colored terra-cotta. Similar upper-story details were captured in a photograph when the building was under construction.

“Unusually large closets” was a selling point of the interiors in an early ad.
