When we last posted a photo of the Albero (aka the building formerly known as The Finger) it was March and the resuscitated project at 144 North 8th Street in Williamsburg was still rising vertically. Now it appears (though we can’t be entirely sure) that the building has reached its ultimate target of 14 stories. It still looks far from finished though, which would place it quite a bit behind its once-targeted opening date of last Spring.

  1. What million problems Warehouse 11 had? The only drama there is that they tore down a perfectly nice loft building and replaced it with a perfectly nice loft-like residential building that was almost exactly the same size.

As for the Finger, just finish the damn thing. The drama’s done, the jerks that foisted this on the neighborhood are long gone (and hopefully much poorer for their efforts), let’s just finish it.

  2. “sort of like Warehouse 11 which is now inhabited and no one cares about the million problems it had. ”

    Warehouse 11 isn’t 15 stories on a low-rise residential block

  3. haha
the weird thing is that it’ll eventually be finished and part of the neighborhood and people will forget that it was this unfinished mini tower with anti-gentrification drama for years sort of like Warehouse 11 which is now inhabited and no one cares about the million problems it had.
