Remember 170 Bedford, a biggest sale in November that went for $1,900,000? That’s the new spot for the Lower East Side’s popular Meatball Shop, which the NY Times mentioned shortly after the property was bought. CB1 reviewed the liquor license application last night and the community board recommended approval. A few more facts about the space: It’s set to include a sidewalk cafe, backyard seating and a bar. The backyard hours of operation were asked to be capped by CB1, but all other plans were given a thumbs-up. Brooklyn Paper also wrote an article this morning about the much lauded meatballs. With the recent expansion of Crif Dogs, also on Bedford Avenue, Williamsburg and the East Village are looking more and more similar these days… GMAP
