While the recent auction of One Hanson Place’s six unsold penthouses got a lot of press, a well-placed tipster has told us there’s buzz not all of the final bids will translate into sales. As The Times noted in its story about the auction, two of the units—27A, which had a final bid of $1.325 million and 30A, which had a bid of $1.65 million—had reserves in place, and the condo’s sponsor had a week to accept or reject the bids. A rep for the auction company, Paramount Realty, said the firm couldn’t comment on whether all the units would be sold, and Canyon-Johnson Urban Funds did not return a call on the matter. Guess we’ll find out whether all of these sold when the closings start hitting city records.

  1. the building is original and im sure there are some great views from the units, but its location? yeah, if you want to walk out into a traffic jam all day and wait 5 minutes to cross the street

these high rises in the downtown Brooklyn area and the eye sores all along 4th Ave seem like bad business decisions (and if not bad, not well thought out)…one of the appeals of Brooklyn isnt to live in high rises or busy/noisy streets like Manhattan…i would really like to know (out of all the people who purchased in these buildings,) how long they had been living in Brooklyn before purchasing

  2. if they aren’t calling back, that is a yes, they haven’t sold out incompetently conducted auction, brokers said
    Canyon, try again!

    great building, great units, location
