This summer, the savory chef at City Bakery announced plans to open a restaurant at 606 Vanderbilt Avenue, which has moved along smoothly since then. We checked into the space today; it should be open by January. The breakfast, lunch and dinner menu will feature American, seasonal classics like mac and cheese. There will be fresh bread, meats and cheeses for sale, a donut machine, full bar and garden space. The interior is cozy but, so far, beautifully done. Excited?
