Last night a preview party was held at 220 Water Street, the newest addition to the Dumbo rental scene. Drinks and hors d’oeuvre were served in the massive lobby, with its high ceilings showing off a 30-foot glass atrium. Then it was on to three different display units: a 865-square-foot one bed/one bath, a 1,476-square-foot one bed/two bath with a home office, and a 1,076-square-foot studio/one bath, with a home office. There are 134 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments in all. Pricing ranges from $3,150 up to $5,700/month. The layouts were standard but the developers did make an effort to show off old building details when they could. The property was once a shoe factory. There’s plenty of exposed brick, columns and ceiling beams to go around, but the 10-foot windows add the most appeal. Amenities to come include a roof deck, fitness center, playroom, on-site parking, storage and a virtual concierge. All the details are now up on the building’s website. What do you think, will 220 Water rent as quickly as its counterpart Gair 2?
