Some new blood is on the way for a couple storefronts on Flatbush near Bergen. First up, the old Salvation Army space on the east side of the avenue is going to house Vinnie’s Styles, which is moving out of its old (and smaller) digs on Pacific. The retailer is known for its Brooklyn-branded apparel. According to an employee of the store, it’s going to open within the next couple of days. Meanwhile, on the west side of the avenue, a new branch of 67 Burger is going into the space that used to be home to Garry’s Liquor. An employee at Fort Greene’s 67 Burger said over the phone that there’s no set time line for the opening yet. Both these properties are owned by the Pintchiks, of the hardware store, Oracle, and Pintchik Row fame. GMAP
This is great news! There’s enough demand to support both places and, as always, brownstoners are trying to find a problem where none exists.

The French burger sounds pretty yummy.
On weekdays I see construction workers eating in Bark. On weekends it’s:
10-11 am hangover-ville
11-3 kid-city,
couples avenue and friendtown the rest of the way.
Not sure the dynamic of 67B but I’m guessing it will be okay – no burger specialty store anywhere close.
Bark serves burgers and chicken sandwiches, not just hot dogs.
Do you really think they’re learning, ENY? I think that they’re raking in so much $$$ from the dozens of storefronts they own around there that they don’t really give a flying rats ass.
Pintchik has been lousy for a long time, the biggest problem in my opinion being its rude and indifferent staff. Now that so many of the things they sell are so widely available elsewhere, I’m sure they’re learning a little lesson about customer service.
One sells burgers and chicken sandwiches. The other sells hot dogs. Normally Landlord’s don’t give tenants exclusives on all food, just not direct competitors.
Hmm, I wonder how Bark will feel about their new neighbor, 67 Burger? Arguably not a very sensitive move by Pintchiks (who is also Bark’s landlord).
Meanwhile Pintchiks itself is looking pretty desperate these days. After yet another redesign of the store’s layout, the selection of available goods is shrinking ever faster.
Flatbush is a Neighborhood… So, saying “North Flatbush” is wrong. This would suggest these places are opening up near the Parade Grounds or something — that’s what I thought, and I was shocked. Then I read what you meant.
