“Saturday morning and the tile is going in,” emails our neighbor whose inlaws arrive a week from today. “Should I get my hopes up?”

  1. For sure your contractor _could_ get it done in time… ours had 2 bathrooms done in 7 working days each, gutted to studs to completed project, tiles on all walls, new cabinetry, tubs, shower doors, lighting, moving outlets, etc… by day 5 or 6 the bathroom was usable and just needed finishing touches like light fixtures, doorknobs, etc.

  2. Christmas is coming and the rooms not ready yet, please get the tile and the toilet set.

If you haven’t got a toilet a potty will do, if you haven’t got a potty, you’ll be sorry too.

(Because we’ll have to use your beautifully renovated bathroom downstairs!)
    the in-laws.

  3. 1 day to tile. Next day, grout. Prime and paint=1 day. If plumbing is in place, 1 day to install fixtures. That’s 4 days. You may not have molding, etc, but it will be functional.

  4. A quality contractor can finish the tile work, start to finish, in about three days. I had a much larger kitchen floor (also mosaic) done in about that time.

  5. how many people do you have laying that tile (which is great by the way)? To get that tile layed in a week would be pretty remarkable….best of luck…anything is possible

  6. who’s doing it? with the right crew, yes. we used guys who are used to working on big things and don’t have any time to waste they give 1,2 or maybe 3 days and it’s done.

    love the tile!

  7. It can be done. I had my kitchen (14 x 7) done in less than a week. Came out great BTW.
You people are full of shit. I love this blog but things get so dirty so fast in here.
Get a life, or rather, if you don’t have anthing nice do say, SHUT the FUCK up!
