Remember back in March when we noted that the Dunkin’ Donuts on Flatbush Avenue had been seized? Well, according to a tipster, the space is now going through a major overhaul and is slated to become a new sushi restaurant. While she was happy to see Flatbush Avenue spiffed up with so many new storefronts, she also wondered, With Geido up the street, and Kyoto across the street, do we really need another sushi restaurant? Thoughts? GMAP
This is on the Park Slope side of Flatbush, btw.
You have it tagged as Prospect Heights, which this is not.
This morning at 7am, I wanted to get breakfast in the North Slope or Prospect Heights near 7th Ave. NOTHING.
I like the coffee at Bergen Bagel. That place needs to expand!
at leat it isn’t a banh mi joint
Whenever I see another undistinguished sushi restaurant, I think of the SNL Scotch Tape Boutique skit. Pathetic, thy name in salmon role.
The last thing that we need on Flatbush is another sushi place. Between GAP and Atlantic, I can think of five sushi places just off the top of my head. I don’t think that this place stands a chance, being so close to both Koto and Taro.
I miss the sugar raised donuts I would buy there, the perfect donut – plain with a little dusting of sugar.
Bergen Bagels coffee does not suck…how people get so down on a simple coffee never fails to make me wonder.
There’s a sushi joint or two in every one-horse town. what are these places going to serve when the yellow- and bluefin tuna are so rare that they’re priced like white truffles?
I for one don’t like sushi… but that’s not the motivation for this post.
Based on the number of sushi restaurants in this town and the frequency folks claim they get sushi… Soon, this city is going to be a ghost town because everyone is going to drop dead from heavy metal poisoning.
