A reader sent along the new sign that’s appeared on Greenwood Height’s Brooklyn Pub, which we last covered a few months ago when it first got its signage. “The bar isn’t looking very upscale,” notes the tipster. “7 TV’s?” Well, maybe they’re really fancy TVs!

  1. Sounds like where I’ll go if I ever want to watch the Knicks again, provided they are decent and Isaiah-free, although Amar’e’s Jewish heritage is strangely intriguing. I’ll be knocking down a few more jumpers just knowing I share some blood with that guy.

The facade is definitely going after an old fashioned new York Irish vibe, not a trendy Irish Irish pub vibe. Greenwood has gentrified a lot — it will be interesting to see who goes here.

Since when pubs were supposed to be upscale?

since people started opening annoying “gastropubs”

i’m with 11217, not everything new in Brooklyn needs to be a speakeasy cocktail bar, organic wine bar, or farm to table locavore hipster tavern. Sometimes it’s nice to go to the local ‘old man bar’ drink some jameson and stare into space (or at a tv)

  3. New bar in a neighborhood without a ton of amenities, check!

The owners a neighborhood guy. It’ll be a locals bar, which we need, outside of Smolen (kidding). And the sign says 7 TVs, which does not excite me. Always nice to toss a pint back and have a nice chat over a blaring Rangers game.
