Third time’s a charm! Court Street’s F. Martinella was closed after nine months, Danny’s on Court lasted two weeks, and now Tio Pio Chicken is moving in. A tipster thinks it may be related to the Latin American restaurant Tio Pio in Downtown Brooklyn. He notes there’s also restaurant in midtown Manhattan with the similar name (Tio Pio West) and logo in Manhattan, which serves Peruvian-style fried and rotisserie chicken. Think it’ll finally be a good fit for the space?

  1. I haven’t eaten at Tio Pio on Willoughby (not sure why not since I lived near there for a couple of years) or at the one in Midtown, but given the picture shown above and this text from the Yelp review of the one in Midtown:

    “Cons:
    – Weird logo (chicken crossing its legs awkwardly)”

It would certainly seem to be related to at least the one in Midtown, if not the one on Willoughby. Not sure if it’ll do better than the last two things in the space, but I’ll certainly give it a try.
