Rob,
Better tell those kids visiting with the flowers to bring some bed pans and some cash. Without replacment reprodction there’s not going to be anyone to take care of the guy in the nursing or to pay his social security.
terrible waste of space. but kids will love it.
Oh the funny haters, mistaking cynicism for insight, crapping on a carousel of all things.
I’ll go out on a limb and predict that this carousel will quickly surpass the two others in status and visibility, and within a decade will be as ubiquitous an iconic depiction of Brooklyn as are brownstones, the Prospect Park arch, and the Bridge itself.
Imagine sitting there, in that narrow park, with hill and trees removed to make it nice and flat, and sound of carousel going around and around, all day. Not even Thong Man is going to come back and lie there with that sound!
I’ve been in that park when there was a Noreaster; water level in the river was just a few inches from flooding the lawn there. One good Noreaster and that lawn and carousel will be so much flotsam and jetsam…
Big time planting going on today at Pier 6 as well. Good to see progress being made on the Park.
A carousel…that should be nice.
Tribeca is a awesome hood but as Rob said the people are not.
actually the income from carousel goes to maintain same only
Jane is a very nice person, talented artist and designer and a great philanthropist she personally restored the antique carousel with help from a number of talented artists
“ugh barf, just what brooklyn needed a Tribeca 2.0 :-/
(tho i love tribeca.. the buildings and layout, just not the people)
*rob*”
