What’s happening at BAM’s new Richard B. Fisher Building, the construction project on Ashland Place? A few months ago Curbed checked in, and they were told the building was on track for a 2012 opening. Not a whole lot has happened since then, except work on the rooftop addition. In the end this will be theater spaces and offices. You can see an exterior rendering here.

I didn’t realize that the space at BAM was over utilized .
I thought that, these days, BAM was used mostly for movies and tangos.
I like the facade of the old building. It is very sweet and I never noticed it before this scheme came up. The addition is set back, which is good, and blah, which is good. The new space will be great and I predict a big hit.
So minard, what do you actually think of the addition? From the drawings of the facade, I have to say I think the facade awful, but the interior looks great and adds a ton of usable, much needed space.
