Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill
Lost City noticed the “Dogs and Burgers” sign has come down from the Degraw Street storefront…. Ted and Honey will soon be expanding into the space. PMFA checks out the new private hair salon in town: The Bird House, located at 490 Court Street. And over on Smith Street, Faan calls it quits after ten years of service. Says PMFA: “The once hugely popular eatery offered a mixed bag of Asian dishes from Japanese to Vietnamese to Thai. Though it did seem a bit emptier in recent months, the closing comes at a surprise.” While at 211 Smith Street a “signature” Benjamin Moore store will be opening by the folks at Mazzone Hardware.

Downtown
The ‘His and Her’ Steven Alan shops have opened on Atlantic Avenue, writes Patch. Apparently Downtown is becoming something of a fashion mecca, because there’s also a designer pop up shop on Livingston Street that Racked says “is currently featuring eighteen different designers and everything from women’s and men’s apparel, books, jewelry, furniture, and artwork.”

Park Slope
Something of a quiet week in Park Slope: Dumplings and Things gets menu and signage, notes HPS, and the Middle Eastern joint Flafilo is moving into the building next door, the old Mama Rosa space. Also, we noticed that Versaille, the snazzy clothing store we told you about at 194 Flatbush is open (and pictured).

After the jump, the demise of Gowanus’ purple-themed nightclub, a summer opening on Columbia Street and prime retails space now free on Church…

Red Hook/Columbia Street Waterfront
5 Burros Mexican Restaurant, on Columbia Street, is open for the summer, reports BoCoCa Land. And F&M Bagels in Red Hook is now sharing its space with an Uncle Louie G’s, writes the Realty Collective blog.

Elsewhere
We never knew that Ultraviolet, the purple-themed Gowanus dance club, closed, but now the Brooklyn Paper is reporting that the club will reopen with a new name–Leylas and Leylas— and “will now showcase live rock and jazz acts ‘better suited’ for the arty, blossoming industrial neighborhood.” Mac’s Landing is rumored to be open in Bed Stuy, while Bed Stuy Blog grabs a pic of a new, fully stocked bogeda on the corner of Lewis and Halsey. Finally, Ditmas Park Blog noted the mattress store is out at East 18th and Church, leaving a prime spot available for rent on Church Avenue.
