Rob: have you ever considered this option? Alot less moonfaces in Bay Ridge, and things are less expensive in general.
even with an FHA loan i’d still never be able to pony up 3.5% down payment and those loans are going the way of the dodo bird. but im gonna be a renter for life, a free bird, i can’t be tied down things such as real estate.
bxgrl, I am really glad you and your family liked the restaurant! Sometimes they are kind of rude and rush their customers, but the food is excellent. It was first recommended to me by a Chinese-American friend who described it as “home-style Shanghai cooking.”
Sorry I didn’t answer your email but I think that was the weekend I had a 103 fever, before I went to the doctor and started the antibiotics and prednisone. Still feeling a little shitty but definitely getting better.
I see the term “regular Joe” got bandied about in today’s Park Slope Rental thread. May I take credit for creating this strawman on this web-site?
I was in Bay Ridge today to see my lawyer (My mother-in-law is getting sued by some guy who claimed he he tripped in front of her house). There was a real estate office next door. One bedroom co-ops going for $129K in decent buildings.

that’s something i always forget when choosing a place to live – proximity to decent, normal grocery stores.
where did you shop when you lived on the LES like 10 years ago? it’s funny how we lived like a block apartment from each other… i rarely grocery shopped when i lived there but i think most people when they first move to nyc have a tendency to not grocery shop. also my oven was storage for my journals and books and my mini fridge stored my shoes. i did go to some grocery store a few times but it was a trek… (not that far, but kinda far maybe on 4th street)? i sorta consider when you live in nyc if you dont have a grocery store within 3-4 blocks, that sorta sucks.

Rob just start a rooftop farm on your building. Your veggies will be free! A beard will help you avoid getting sunburnt while you’re farming up there.
there are ghetto ass rooftop cabanas up there of the vinyl siding variety. i.kid.you.not. there’s not much room anymore to grow a garden. and im sorry please, shoot me in the fucking face if it came down to me having to grow my own vegetables. how plebe!

Benson, how is your mother-in-law doing? Is she staying with you full-time?

I’ll probably be here late enough tonight that I’ll need to take a car home. I hope the driver isn’t Russian.
