Who’s looked at these?

Went to an open house soon after the building was finished. I was not impressed. The staircase might as well be a ladder it’s so steep and narrow. The apartments felt very cramped, and cheaply built. I think they were asking similar prices back in 2007, and then tried raising them very quickly. Guess that didn’t work out so well. I think the prices would have to come down a lot more for me to consider one.
It’s not the greatest block, but it’s not the worst either. Pluses include proximity to the subway and Smith Street. Minuses are that you have the Warren Street Family Center right next door, a pretty bad high school across the street and as mentioned above the block is often filthy due to the heavy foot traffic.
Why is the school a bad thing?

Housing projects, often called “projects” is NOT a politically incorrect term. And you are correct, pc is pretty much ignored here.
The projects on Hoyt aren’t grey-brick, but red brick. The grey-brick projects are off of third ave.
haha, I know. I was trying to be politically correct but Im seeing that’s not necessary around here.
” unattractive gray public-housing-looking type development”
uh no…those are projects.
oops, meant I haven’t seen these from the _INSIDE_.
GMAP link goes to 599 4th Ave.
I saw these over a year ago. Not bad but like so many of these places that try to be ultra-modern, not too practical. Most are duplexes and the space up top was chopped up in odd configurations, had low ceilings and was reached by an impossibly steep and narrow staircase.
Also directly across from a school and half a block away from some really unattractive gray public-housing-looking type development. I’m impressed they managed to sell 6 out of the 8.
