Co-op of the Day: 279 Cumberland Street, #2
This duplex co-op at 279 Cumberland Street in Fort Greene just hit the market with an asking price of $649,000. Ringo, ding ding ding
Judging from the layout and the maint., my guess is with Ringo that this used to be two separate units. I’d be more interested in trying to join the floors more seamlessly and doing away with the spiral staircase.
“Does that seem like a difficult fix to you?”
YES, when you’re paying 600K+ for an apt!
I also second what ET said about the layout. Makes no sense.
Can I buy it for 575, split it (back) into two one+ bedroom units, add a kitchen, take out spiral stair, and sell for $415k each? I think I could make 200k by the end of the summer.

Senseless layout.
Why aren’t the living and dining areas on the same floor and the bedrooms on another?
