261-metropolitan-avenue-030513Shrouded in scaffolding since the summer of 2011, 641 Driggs Avenue is almost finished and the ground floor retail space and upstairs apartments are available for rent. When we passed by, we saw some workers putting some final touches on the exterior. The building sold for $7 million in 2010. The developer removed the paint from the brick and put in larger windows. He also toned down the cornice. Now called the Marbleworks Lofts, apparently this triangular shaped building was once a stone cutting factory built sometime around the turn of the last century. Two-bedrooms start at $3,450 a month.
