The 95-unit big boy that’s been in the works on 4th Avenue between Douglass and Butler for a couple years now sure looks to be getting ready for take-off: Last week its developers filed a permit for a sales office. More importantly, though, the building has been branded: 150 4th Avenue is henceforth to be known as “Arias Park Slope,” according to a website and Facebook page. The website says prices are starting at $295,000 but it also says it will have luxury rentals. So, unclear which way the wind’s blowing on this one.

I don’t think this is too bad, considering what has been built on 4th, this one and the one on 4th and Carroll are about the best looking new buildings so far.
I am glad the 2 remaining tenements did however remain on either side. I am just partial to all tenements, I just like them.
that’s awesome. so that means i buy my 40s and newports in gowanus!
*rob*
I was waiting for the inevitable “it’s not Park Slope” post to show up.
The neighborhood is known as Gowanus, not Park Slope. Park Slope is the other side of 4th Avenue.
ugggggggggggggleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! thank god i’ll only see the bottom of the place when i’m driving by.
Looks really good. A major improvement over the dilapidated husks it replaced.
I agree – it’s not completely fugly, but the architecture is a bit wonky. There is a balcony on the facade that attaches on one side to brick, and on the other side – to nowhere, since there is a window there. It’s the middle balcony in that grid of 3×3 down the center. It’s not that clear in the picture, but if you have ever walked or driven past the building, it’s one of those things that make you go “HUH?”
Judging from the size and placement of the windows, I am guessing that they are not legally required.
I’m sure the offering docs for any sales will have disclaimers about the windows.
Given the size of the lots on either side, I would not expect that any buildings much taller than the current ones would ever get built.
lot line windows? I hope they bought the air rights.
