This should qualify as an “Under the Radar” listing, don’t you think? It’s hard to imagine that this place is getting a whole lot of exposure (or maybe the owner’s knew that we’d cycle by and be unable to resist the luddite charm of their handwritten for sale sign). All we know about the house is what’s on Property Shark. With a footprint of 16.67-by-30 feet and only three stories high, it ain’t big. We’ve got no idea what the interior is like, but that front door doesn’t suggest an owner who’s overly obsessed with historic detail. The number in the window is 347-583-4973. Let us know if you find out the price.

  1. I used to live on this block directly across from the empty lot under debate. I don’t think it’s a bad block at all. Most of the people on it have lived there forever. It’s pretty queit and close to lots of stores. The price is pretty great too for this area. Chances are the family that is selling has been there for a while so it doesn’t have the damage of several families to repair. It may be worth it for the right person.

  2. Park Place–come on, don’t you realize how fun and cool it is for some people to swear? alas, we cannot all be so hip. it also comes in handy when you have such a limited vocabulary.

  3. 785k sounds like a good deal to me! Even on the wrong side of myrtle and even at 30 foot deep and not wide, and even with no detail and a vanilla front door.

How much is 1600 sq ft of duplex condo with another 1000 sq ft of garden in the area, and low monthlies?

  4. this isn’t sesame street, 2:41.

last i checked, we were all adults in here (at least by age).

you might want to consider a move to the bible belt if the word prick offends you so much.

    Too Good to be True

128 Washington Avenue between Myrtle and Park Avenues in Clinton Hill, a 3 story brick townhouse, is offered for sale on Craigslist for $785k. Sounds incredible, I know. So I checked it out. After speaking with the broker, the home has some original detail, however the fireplaces have all been ripped out. It also needs some work. What makes it too good to be true is that the building size is only 16.67×30, yes 30. This on a lot size of 16.67x 100. Who builds a house with a depth of 30 feet when you have that much backyard left, twice as much as the house itself with another 10 feet to spare? An extension is called for in this case. But that type of construction, running the plumbing and electric to the extended portion of the home, upgrading some mechanicals, and reconfiguring the interior space puts you in line with what a typical brick home would normally sell for. Too good to be true. HB
